Privacy Policy

• Account details: name, email, phone number, gender, and your location (governorate, district, city) and faculty.
• Tutor details: university, year, hourly rate, bio, subjects, teaching mode, profile photo, and a photo of your university ID submitted for verification.
• Activity: bookings, availability, reviews you write, and messages you send through the in-app chat.
• Subscription: for tutors, the payment proof you submit (payer name, reference, optional screenshot).
• Technical: basic request data (e.g. IP address) used for security and rate-limiting.

To create and run your account, connect students with tutors, verify tutor IDs, process subscription activations, send you notifications and service emails, keep the service secure, and improve it.

• Passwords are hashed (bcrypt) and never stored in plain text.
• Chat messages are encrypted at rest — the database stores only ciphertext.
• University ID photos are visible only to admins and are deleted once your verification is reviewed.
• Database tables are protected with row-level security; the site is served over HTTPS.

For the safety and privacy of both tutors and students, all communication must stay within Darresni’s in-app chat. Tutors and students must not share, request, or publish personal contact details — phone numbers, WhatsApp, email, social-media handles, or external messaging links — in profiles, bios, or messages. This keeps a clear record, lets us help if a dispute arises, and means you never have to hand out your personal number to a stranger. See our Terms of Service for the full rule; violations may lead to suspension.

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to host and operate Darresni (for hosting, database and file storage, and email delivery); they process data only as needed to run the service and under confidentiality obligations. Your session fees are arranged in the in-app chat and paid directly between you and the tutor (in person or a method you agree on) and do not pass through us. We may disclose information if required by law.

We keep account data while your account is active. ID photos are removed after review. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time (see Contact). Some records may be retained where required for legal or security reasons.

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by emailing us. You may edit much of your profile directly in the app.

Darresni is intended for university students. Do not use it if you are not permitted to under applicable law.
